Abstract

Emotional Intelligence is a concept that emerged in 1990 with a great impact in the educational community and it is still current. The aim of this study is to find whether there are differences in the development of the interpersonal and intrapersonal Emotional Intelligence among Elementary Education students, with and without hearing deficiencies. Two scales of a questionnaire to detect multiple intelligences (interpersonal and intrapersonal) were applied to a sample of 33 students, 14 of whichhad hearing disabilities. The analysis of the data led us to conclude that the level of Emotional Intelligence among students with hearing deficiency is lower than the one in not hearing deficiency students.
