Abstract

This research with qualitative approach aimed to understand how it manifests communicative competence in college students at the ‘Universidad de Londres’ located in Mexico City when they perform collaborative work. With the results achieved, a proposal of group work was developed in which students are involved throughout the development of a specific project, communicating efficiently. Observations were carried out and were also interviewed twenty students and seven teachers. The results showed that students in professional level are not aware of the advantages of working together, limiting the work to a process of division of labor, without reaching a collaborative work. The interviewed teachers are not involved in the development of communicative competence in teamwork. The proposal developed proposes to carry out the work as a team, being the teacher who randomly designated team members. Include a coevaluation of team members, promoting asynchronous work. This work is expected to be a contribution to education, in order to promote communicative competence in collaborative learning, leading to efficient educates professionals to working together as a team.
